The short version
This site sets no cookies until you choose. If you select “Accept all”, Google Analytics sets cookies so we can measure how the site is used. If you select “Reject all”, it sets none. Both buttons carry the same weight, and you can change your choice at any time from Cookie settings in the footer of every page.
Cookies we set only with your consent
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics, as a first-party cookie on this site | Distinguishes one browser from another so visits can be counted | 2 years |
_ga_ followed by an identifier | Google Analytics, as a first-party cookie on this site | Keeps track of the current visit | 2 years |
The lifetimes are Google’s defaults (Google: cookie usage in Google Analytics). With these cookies, Google Analytics records pages viewed, time on page, the referring site or campaign, approximate location derived from your IP address, device type, browser, screen size and the fact that a form was sent (never what was typed in it). We use this to improve the site and to see which channels bring enquiries. We do not use it for advertising or to identify you, and our advertising consent signals to Google stay off.
Google processes this data on our behalf and may do so outside your country, including in the United States. The privacy notice sets out the lawful basis, how long Google keeps the data, how the transfer is protected and your rights.
Storage that is strictly necessary
These items are kept in your browser’s own storage, not in cookies. None is sent to Google or used to identify you, and none needs consent because each is needed for something you asked for:
aa-consent-v1(local storage, six months): remembers your cookie choice so we do not ask on every page. After six months, or if this notice changes, we ask again.aa-assessment(session storage, until you close the tab): keeps your Bottleneck Assessment answers if the page reloads before you send them. It is deleted when you send the form.aa-first-touch-v1(session storage, until you close the tab): the campaign tags, referring page and landing page of your visit, sent to us only if you send an enquiry, so we know which channel it came from. It is never sent to Google Analytics.
Embedded content
Some pages load a video from Amazon CloudFront and a three-dimensional scene from Spline. These providers receive your IP address to deliver the content, as any website you load does, but this site does not ask them to set cookies. The privacy notice has the detail.
Changing or withdrawing your choice
- Select Cookie settings in the footer of any page and switch analytics on or off. Switching it off stops anything further being sent to Google and deletes the
_gacookies this site set. - Clear this site’s data in your browser settings, which removes the cookies and your stored choice. You will be asked again on your next visit.
- Install Google’s Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, which blocks Google Analytics on every site.
Withdrawing consent does not affect measurement made before you withdrew.
